Situation
Peiner Träger GmbH is a member of the Salzgitter Group for steel and technology and offers a comprehensive range of rolled steel products. Peiner Träger GmbH operates an extensive 10-kV and 110-kV factory system and planned the construction of a new electric furnace steel plant with an additional power of approx. 150 MVA.

Problem
The existing 110-kV factory system and 400/110-kV transformer substation were not adequate for the connection of a new electric furnace steel plant.

Solution
We analyzed the existing 110-kV factory system, planned a new 110-kV system structure and the expansion of the 400/110-kV transformer substation.
The planned factory system makes it possible to operate both electric furnace steel plants with sufficient voltage quality and improves the service security of the supply to the existing production units. We additionally planned new 110/(30)10-kV transformer substations to simplify and improve the lower-level 10-kV systems, which ensures the required voltage quality at the production machines.
